(Based on an average of $400 per client. Most Certified Sleep Sense Consultants report spending about 3 hours total with each client, and spend just a little less time on admin/marketing than they spend working directly with clients. 1. Sleep Fundamentals Online Academy

The science of sleep is one of the most interesting (and least understood) parts of human behavior. In order to succeed as a Certified Sleep Sense Consultant, you don’t need to be a doctor, but you DO need to have a solid understanding about how sleep works.

To help you master the fundamentals, you’ll be given access to the Certified Sleep Sense Consultant Online Academy. This is where you’ll find dedicated trainings on:

• The Science Of Sleep: The differences between the sleep cycles of adults and children, and why are they important
• Newborn Sleep Strategies: How to Help Parents of Newborns (0 – 3 months) 
• Baby Sleep Basics: Helping Parents with Babies (4 -18 months) 
• Teaching Toddlers To Sleep: Helping Parents with Toddlers(18 months – 3 years)

Knowing how to approach different age groups is a BIG part of what makes The Sleep Sense Program so successful. You’ll be expected to have a basic understanding of these fundamentals before attending our in-person training. However, you will ALWAYS have access to these training materials, so you’ll be able to refer back to them whenever you need to!

2. Two Day, In-Person Training with Dana Obleman

This is an intense — but FUN! — 2-day experience where you’ll learn everything you need to know about becoming a successful sleep consultant. Here’s a brief outline of what to expect during our two days together:

• Day 1: Review the Basics and Building Your Business
  
  • Morning Session: Sleep Basics Review After some fun welcome activities and introductions, we’ll get right to work! Our first session will focus on reviewing your basic knowledge from the Sleep Fundamentals Online Academy. (Yes, there WILL be a test! But also games and prizes to keep it fun!)
  • Afternoon Session: Building Your Business You’ve started your new career as a “sleep expert,” but for many of you, it will also be the first time you’ve run your own business. The second half of Day One will focus on everything you need to know about how to get clients, how to keep them happy, and how to get them excited to tell their friends about the great job you did!
    We’ll focus on how to market yourself, how to deliver an AMAZING experience for your clients, and dig into the “nitty-gritty” about the best (and easiest) ways to set up your website, promote your marketing materials, and get testimonials from past clients.
• Day 2: Real-World Experience And Secrets To Success
  • Morning Session: Real-World Experience What does it look like to actually work one-on-one with a real client? We’ll watch a video together of me working directly with a family struggling to get their baby to sleep. You’ll not only see how to structure your consultations, but you’ll also see what kind of questions you should expect your clients to ask!
    
    We’ll also spend some time on important subjects like how to set your prices, what kind of boundaries you need to set with your clients, and how to deal with the real-world stress that sometimes comes with helping parents through a challenging time.
  • Afternoon Session: The Secrets To Your Success Being successful as a Certified Sleep Sense Consultant comes down to two things: 1) Serving your clients to the best of your ability and 2) staying focused on YOUR definition of success.
    
    Some of you will be aiming for a six-figure income, while others will be happy with seeing a few clients a month to cover a few bills. The route to success is the same for both: goal setting and follow-through. We’ll talk about how to set reachable goals for yourself and what that looks like specifically for Certified Sleep Sense Consultants.
    
    We’ll also be joined LIVE (via webcam) by a panel of successful consultants from around the world! They’ll each share a real-world case study with children of different ages, as well as share some major “a-ha moments” they’ve had since starting their businesses. They’ll also reveal some of their favorite time-saving tools, marketing tricks, and secrets to their own success. There will also be time for an open Q&A session.
    
    NOTE: Some training events may be delivered over 4 days rather than 2 to accommodate attendees in European & Asian time zones.
    

3. A Complete “Business-In-A-Box” Resource Package

Getting your own business up and running can be overwhelming… so you’ll also be getting a TON of materials to help you jump-start your new career, including:

• Take-home training manual. You’ll be learning a LOT of new information during these 2 days. You’re welcome to take notes, of course, but you’ll also be provided with a detailed training manual containing the most important lessons and resources.
• DVD of a 1-on-1 consultation. As a Certified Sleep Sense Consultant, most of your income will come from working one-on-one with families. You’ll be receiving a professional DVD recording of Dana Obleman conducting real-life consultation with a client so that you can see exactly how to structure your consultations. (This is a great resource to refer back to during your first few months!)
• Comprehensive client resource kit. You’ll be able to help your clients most effectively when you’ve got a detailed system for them to follow. That’s why you’ll be getting access to Dana’s complete client resource kit. This includes a preliminary questionnaire to send your clients, sleep plan outlines, sleep logs (so that your clients can track their success), follow-up support guidelines, and much more!
• Complete website template. Getting a professional website up and running can be incredibly time-consuming… so you’ll be getting a template that you can start using almost immediately! You’ll want to hire someone to customize the template with your own information, of course, but this resource can help you have your site up and running in just a few days… instead of weeks or months!
• Complete collection of “fill-in-the-blanks” marketing materials. Created by a team of professional copywriters and graphic designers, you’ll be getting agency-quality brochures, business cards, door-hangers, etc. Simply have any designer add your contact info and start getting the word out!

4.  Immersive, 3-Month Mentoring and Coaching

You’ll get everything listed above during the 2 days you spend with Dana. However, that’s just the beginning… What REALLY sets the Certified Sleep Sense Consultant program apart is the ongoing support you get AFTER you arrive back home! During those first three months, you’ll get:

• • Three months of small-group mentoring. Twice every month, you’ll join other members of your class on a live training & mentoring teleconference with our Senior Coach. The goal of these calls is to continue to build your expertise through group learning AND to give you the opportunity to ask any specific questions you might be having from a Senior Coach (who is also a very successful Certified Sleep Sense Consultant herself!)
  • Access to your Senior Coach via our voice-messaging platform. If you have questions BETWEEN the bi-weekly mentoring teleconferences, you can simply log into a special messaging platform you’ll have access to. Record your question (like a voicemail) for your coach, and she’ll get back to you ASAP! (NOTE: Due to popular demand, this benefit is currently being EXTENDED to ONE FULL YEAR of access!)

• Private Facebook group for your class. You’ll have made some lifelong friends during our 2 days together (trust me on this one!) and there will be a special Facebook group created JUST for the people you trained with! This is a great place to stay connected, but also to share resources AND ask questions. (There will be 3 coaches answering your questions in there every day!)
• Sleep Resource Training Library. This is a comprehensive collection of recordings that offer “deep dives” into specific subjects that will help you serve your clients AND grow your business. Content included:
  • Handling regressions and developmental milestones
  • Solving unusual sleep issues
  • Working with twins, triplets, and multiples
  • Newborn sleep issues
  • Breastfeeding and sleep training

• Directory listing at www.sleepsense.net. Your photo, bio, website, and social media links will be featured on Dana’s website, which is one of the internet’s most trafficked sites by parents looking for help with their children’s sleep.
• Consultants-Only Facebook Group. After graduation, you’ll be invited into a “secret” Facebook group where you can connect with the Certified Sleep Sense Consultant community. Ask questions, share insights, collaborate & connect. (It’s a VERY lively forum!)
• Official Certified Sleep Sense Diploma. (Mailed to you upon successful graduation.)
• Continuing education webinars. Every 6 weeks, Dana will be hosting a live webinar designed to help you stay “on top” of your profession! Some will be “sleep-focused” (like “How To Work With Toddlers”) and others will be “business-focused” (like “How To Use Facebook To Get New Clients.”)
• Invitation to the Annual Certified Sleep Sense Consultant Convention & Retreat. Get together with Dana and other Certified Sleep Sense Consultants to plan for the coming year, share your successes, learn “what’s working now,” reconnect with other consultants from your class, and make some new friends!
• Telephone and e-mail access to Dana Obleman. We’ve tried to make this package as complete as possible, but sometimes tricky business or client questions come up that you might not be able to solve. Because your success is Dana’s top priority, you will have access to her private e-mail address and calendar. This will allow you to ask questions via e-mail or book a call to speak with her in person.
